In order to protect children from pedophiles, a register of those convicted of crimes against minors on sexual grounds has been launched in Ukraine.
Attorney General’s Office reportsthat the list of criminals will prevent children from coming into contact with them. This is an automated electronic database that allows you to collect and store data about “child lovers”. The register also contains data on those whose convictions for pedophilia have been withdrawn or expunged. There are now more than 600 people on the list, and juvenile prosecutors continue to fill the register.
The Office of the Prosecutor General explained that the criminal is included in the electronic database on the basis of a guilty verdict that has entered into legal force. It includes the surname, first name and patronymic of the convicted person, his date of birth and place of residence/stay, a description of the crime committed against children.
The legislation determines the circle of persons who have access to the register: law enforcement officers, heads of state organizations and local governments, directors of schools and kindergartens.
In January 2020, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky signed a law to launch a pedophile registry in Ukraine. Since October 2021, the registry has been launched in test mode.
Earlier we talked about one of the victims of pedophilia in Greece. Pimping, rape and pornography – under these articles will be judged accused in the case of a 12-year-old girl from Kolonos, a victim of sexual abuse and exploitation. The trial is scheduled for January 8, 2024. The child’s mother will also be in the dock.
