There are long queues in Chinese hospitals, and an outbreak of pneumonia has been recorded among children – without a cough, but with a high temperature and nodules in the lungs.
According to local media, an increase in the number of cases was recorded back in September, it was reported by the National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China. However, the outbreak of respiratory diseases at that time was explained by the lifting of anti-Covid restrictions and seasonal flu. So far, experts are finding it difficult to name the reason for the current increase in the incidence of pneumonia.
Children’s hospitals across the country, including in the capital, are overcrowded. In emergency departments, children with fevers face waits of two or more hours to be seen. Among the symptoms, doctors call chills and high fever, and many develop nodules in the lungs. As a treatment, doctors give small patients intravenous drips, writes INTERFAX.
Classes are being canceled in Chinese schools, and teachers are also getting sick. Rumors are spreading that an epidemic of a new type of coronavirus has begun, but the authorities have so far remained silent. World Health Organization requested Beijing has detailed information about the increase in the number of diseases and called on the Chinese population to take “measures to reduce the risk.”
