Fruits and vegetables – "our everything"

We all know about the important benefits of vegetables and fruits for our body, but we often find it difficult to include them in our diet.

Eating at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day (about 400 grams total) can improve your health by reducing your risk of developing many diseases. Nutritionists offer 7 simple tips that will help you, even if you are not a “fan” vegetables and fruits“, include them in the right quantities in your diet.

  1. Add fruit to your breakfast. The easiest way to do this is to put fruit in yogurt or drink orange juice. Instead of mashed potatoes, make vegetable puree. You can use carrots, cauliflower or even sweet potatoes to make a delicious and healthy puree.
  2. Give preference to compote. Replace sweet dessert with fruit compote. It’s very easy to make using an apple, pear or even an orange.
  3. Add more vegetables to your meals. For example, when you eat something fatty, add stewed zucchini or carrots to the side dish. Even dishes such as rice with spinach, cabbage (broccoli, cauliflower) will help digestion. You can use twice as many vegetables as, say, rice, pasta or potatoes per serving. This way you will double the amount of vegetables you consume without even realizing it.
  4. Fruit for dessert. Many people prefer sweets over spicy and fatty ones. It’s a good idea to replace chocolates or ice cream with chilled fruit.
  5. Try new fruits and vegetables. Each week you can change the vegetables you use in your cooking and try new flavors depending on the season. Try new recipes and you won’t get bored with them.
  6. Do a meat detox for a week. Avoiding eating meat 1-2 times a week will result in you eating more vegetables to fill you up.
