The winner of the Miss Universe 2023 competition was named today: Shanice Palacios, a representative of Nicaragua, brought a historic victory in the competition to her country.
The final of the 72nd Miss Universe 2023 beauty pageant was held in El Salvador. For the first time in the history of the event, a representative from Nicaragua won, as it became known on Sunday, November 19.
Shanice Palacios was presented with the crown by last year’s winner, American R’Boni Gabrielle. The first runner-up was Antonia Porsild from Thailand, the second runner-up was Moriah Wilson from Australia.
This year’s Miss Universe pageant included two transgender women – from the Netherlands and Portugal – and two married contestants from Colombia and Guatemala. Nepal was represented by a plus-size model.
