Last week, the Greek Communist Party demanded the resumption of investigations into the collision between a passenger and freight train in Tempi, which led to the death of 57 people. KKE proposals for the creation of an investigative committee on the topic: “Investigation of the Tempi crime and all aspects connected with it” was supported at the plenary session of parliament.

In particular, after a roll-call electronic vote, out of 298 deputies who voted, 266 deputies voted “for”, and 32 deputies from PASOK – “Movement for Change” – “against”.

According to the proposal of the Deputy Chairman of Parliament A. Bur, which was adopted unanimously, the commission of inquiry will consist of 31 members, represented in proportion to their strength from all parties, as well as independent deputies. The deadline for completing the work of the committee and submitting the corresponding report is set at one month from the moment of creation of the committee, with the right to extend it at the request of the committee itself. Probably the discovery of the “black box” was associated with the resumption of the work of the investigative commission.
