An excellent photograph of a “real miracle” was taken by an amateur photographer in the Aegean Sea. According to a report from meteo.gr, a camera lens captured a rare and admittedly spectacular lightning event last night (November 10).
The phenomenon was captured in the sky over the island of Ikaria during a storm. This is a double red sprite. According to the National Observatory of Athens, the lightning had a force of 76 kA.
Sprite (English) sprite – fairy; elf) – a type of electrical discharges of cold plasma beating in the mesosphere and thermosphere. Photographers have captured the “miracle” more than once. In fact, it’s worth seeing in person.
