A drunk policeman from Armenia said that he was robbed in Omonia


A strange story of a robbery with an Armenian policeman as the victim(!) occurred on Thursday evening in the central capital district of Omonia. According to the Armenian, the bag contained a French passport, 7,000 euros, a gold chain around his neck, a gold watch, a gold bracelet and the Armenian’s service ID along with a badge.

According to information published by the publication ProtoThemait all happened after midnight on Thursday, at approximately one in the morning, when a 57-year-old man appeared in front of the officers of the Omonia police station in a state of deep alcoholic intoxication.

A man who stated that he was a policeman from Armenia and complained that when he was at the hotel on Karaiskaki Square, where he was staying, two unknown men approached him and, after beating him, took away his handbag.

According to the complaint, the bag contained a French passport(!), 7,000 euros, a gold chain around the neck, a gold watch, a gold bracelet and an Armenian service ID along with a police badge(!).

The 57-year-old man did not want to be examined by a forensic doctor or to be shown photographs of the criminals. The preliminary investigation is being carried out by the security department of the Omonia police station together with the YAA

The Omonia district is located in the very center of Athens, and is considered one of the most crime-prone in the capital of Greece.
