Forty-year-old Samantha Wall, director of a synagogue in Detroit, Michigan, died from multiple stab wounds received near her home.
How reports Euronews, citing police data, Samantha was killed on Saturday, October 21. Her body was discovered around 7am with “multiple” stab wounds. She has led the synagogue since 2022 and has worked closely with local US Democratic Party politicians.
Samantha Wall was the organizer of the Detroit Muslim-Jewish Forum of Detroit to bring together representatives of different religions.
The brutal killing comes amid escalating tensions caused by the war in Gaza, so the FBI “will provide police assistance as needed.” Police have not yet established a possible motive. She calls on the public to refrain from rumors and suspicions.
In this case, investigators say that “no evidence was presented that this was a deliberate act motivated by anti-Semitism.” The Jewish Federation of Detroit said there were “no known threats.”
