Erdogan: “We oppose the killing of civilians in Israel. But we also oppose the massacre of defenseless innocent people in Gaza as a result of bombing. Israel must behave like a state, not an organization, otherwise it will reduce its international authority.”
“Asymmetrical and immoral attacks on Gaza will place Israel in an undesirable position in the world community. Bombing areas where civilians live, deliberately killing civilians, obstructing humanitarian aid vehicles and presenting all this as achievements are not the reflexes of the state, but organization. If Israel behaves not like a state, but like an organization, then it must know that it will be treated like an organization.”he emphasized.
The Turkish President presented maps (at 46:30 of the video) of the development of the situation in the Palestinian territories since 1947. “This picture shows Palestine and Israel in 1947. Look at what Israel looks like in 1967. Look at the state of Palestine and Israel today.” – he explained.
“Lasting peace and tranquility in the region will only come with the creation of a Palestinian state, united geographically, in accordance with UN resolutions, within the 1967 borders, with its capital in Jerusalem and with its recognition by the whole world,” – he said.
“Only in this way can Israel continue to exist as a state and ensure the safety of its citizens. Otherwise, the incidents that have erupted since last Saturday will not end, and even more serious tragedies will follow.” Erdogan warned.
This is not the first statement by Erdogan regarding the latest events in Israel. After a meeting with the Chancellor of Austria, the President of Turkey, answering a question about the situation in Israel and US military actions, noted: “Why is an American aircraft carrier coming to Israel? Why is US military assistance needed? What are they going to do? Are they going to strike Gaza with their warplanes?”.
“Unfortunately, at present, all terrorist organizations are being trained in the United States. With the help of these organizations, both in Syria and in the Middle East, they are turning the entire region into a bloodbath! The Turkish President insisted on the issue of their presence in the Eastern Mediterranean amid the deployment of the aircraft carrier Gerald Ford. “Today the US has more than 20 bases in Syria.
