Kadyrov Jr. is not subject to criminal liability, but he was blocked on Instagram

After a video appeared where the son of the head of Chechnya beats a prisoner, Adam Kadyrov was blocked on Instagram for six months. But he is not discouraged – he has already created a new account for himself, posted a photo of himself with a weapon and signed it: “One step ahead.”

Adam, who beat Nikita Zhuravel for burning the Koran, was banned from the social network for six months – for “violating community rules,” tells edition “Country”. Beating incident Kadyrov’s associates confirmed at the end of August: Russian State Duma deputy Adam Delimkhanov and Chechen parliament speaker Magomed Daudov. They praised the 15-year-old, saying “he set an example of patriotism.” The head of Chechnya himself wrote:

“The Internet is still arguing about the fact that Adam Kadyrov beat the burner of the Holy Koran, Nikita Zhuravel, an accomplice of the Ukrainian special services. Did it happen or didn’t it happen? He beat him and did the right thing. I respect his choice.”

Who is he, Adam Kadyrov, what is he like? At the age of eight, he fought in MMA tournaments, the fights were shown on Match TV. At the age of 15, he beat up a man accused of burning the Koran. He has been fighting since childhood, and first appeared in the media back in 2016. In October of that year, the mixed martial arts (MMA) tournament Grand Prix Akhmat-2016 was held in Grozny. Children also took part in it. At some point, Kadyrov’s three sons entered the fighting cage: 10-year-old Akhmet, nine-year-old Zelimkhan and eight-year-old Adam.

Officially, children under 12 years of age are prohibited from participating in MMA competitions; fights in Grozny took place according to “adult” rules, that is, without helmets or special protective pads on the legs. All three defeated their opponents in front of their father.

Children’s fights were even broadcast live on the federal channel Match TV. After this, many human rights activists and athletes condemned the organizers of the tournament. For example, Fedor Emelianenko, a mixed martial arts legend and president of the Russian MMA Union at that time, said: “Kids who were eight years old beat each other in front of joyful adults. It’s outrageous that Ramzan Kadyrov watched this.”

Those around the head of Chechnya reacted very sharply. Chechen kickboxer and MMA fighter Abubakar Vagaev called Emelianenko a “rooster” who “sank in their eyes” and lost respect after a “rotten move.”

However, Emelianenko’s position, as one would expect, did not change anything. A year later, Adam again appeared on the live broadcast of Match TV. This time he fought for the belt in the “up to 39 kg category” (though in a helmet and pads). The judges gave him the victory.

Adam Kadyrov is suspected of fixing fights. Many opponents simply did not dare to hit him. In the next fight in 2018, Kadyrov’s youngest son fought with Alan Beychekuev from Kabardino-Balkaria (at that time they were 10 years old). Beychekuev did not attack Kadyrov and behaved passively. Adam, on the other hand, attacked a lot. As a result, the Chechen fighter won by decision of the judges. The fighters received not only commemorative cups for the fight. For some reason, the loser Beychekuev also received a check for 100 thousand rubles – from the Akhmat Kadyrov Charitable Foundation.

At the “Time of Legends” tournament in Moscow, organized two years later by the Chechen fight club “Akhmat,” Adam Kadyrov fought with his peer from Uganda, Mukisa Ukashi. He came out to the weigh-in before the fight to Timati’s track.

Before this fight, Ukashi had two fights in his native country and both times he confidently defeated his opponents. But in the fight against Kadyrov, he never hit, and in the second round he completely fell to one knee after a light blow to the body. The fight was stopped, the victory was awarded to Kadyrov, who was given a belt with the inscription “Chief Champion.”

Kadyrov’s eldest son, Akhmad, also competed at the same tournament. The 13-year-old fighter fought with an opponent from Uganda. The battle scenario was repeated: the foreigner did not attack his opponent, but at the beginning of the second round he collapsed after a weak blow. Even Ahmad himself was surprised.

A year later, history repeated itself again. At the same Akhmata tournament “Time of Legends”, Aslan Bittirov, a peer from Kabardino-Balkaria, competed against 13-year-old Adam Kadyrov. The fight, which took place according to boxing rules, looked more dynamic than the previous ones – Kadyrov was even beaten back.

At some point, the teenagers began a brutal exchange of direct blows, and Adam received two direct hits to the head. After this, the referee stopped the fight, but for some reason began to count to 10 towards Bittirov, as happens with a knockdown. A white towel was immediately thrown from the corner of the Kabardian athlete, signaling surrender. At this time, Bittirov stood with his arms spread out in surprise. The commentators did not understand anything either.

After this fight, Kadyrov Jr. was sharply criticized on social networks and accused of fixing the fight. Users noted an interesting detail – the fighters had different gloves: Kadyrov had ordinary professional ones, while his opponent had amateur ones, in which, due to the special design, it is simply impossible to deliver a strong blow.

As a result of such heated criticism, the Chairman of the Chechen Parliament, Magomed Daudov, “announced his readiness [Адама] re-fight at any time.” As Daudov said, “respected and famous judges” noted that the referee behaved professionally. “Since the most important thing is the health of children, especially in this age category,” he said.

Supporters of the head of Chechnya also pointed out that the fight was stopped “according to the rules of amateur boxing,” and the judge noticed a heavy blow to Bittirov’s head. Ramzan Kadyrov himself stood up for his son and called the accusations of unfair victory “black PR”: “If the judge sees that the blow hit the eye, then he must stop the fight. It doesn’t matter whether it’s my son or not.”

Earlier, a year ago, Ramzan Kadyrov claimed that his sons (including Adam) “participated in battles” in Ukraine and “brought back a captured Ukrainian.” As confirmation, he published a video of Adam and his brothers firing from machine guns and a grenade launcher from a trench. According to Kadyrov, his sons brought a captured Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier from the front, “made their way close to enemy positions and provided fire cover for the advancing soldiers.”

Commentators questioned the authenticity of the video. Many noted some details that could not possibly have been filmed from a real fight. A few days later, the head of the Ministry of Press of Chechnya, Akhmed Dudayev, recognized the video as “the usual work of editors.” At the same time, the Chechen authorities did not refute the Kadyrovs’ participation in hostilities.

In the same fall of 2022, the ceremony of “coming of age” for Adam Kadyrov took place in Chechnya. The father gave his son a hat as a symbol of observing the code of honor. A few months later, in February 2023, the already “adult” Adam was seen driving a car in Dubai. Although, according to the law, 15-year-old Kadyrov cannot have a driver’s license.

In Chechnya, meanwhile, an investigation began after the beating in a pre-trial detention center of a man arrested for burning the Koran by Kadyrov’s son, Russian publics report. The investigation is carried out by the police and controlled by the prosecutor’s office. They must find out whether Adam Kadyrov’s actions violated the law.

According to public reports, the police have already completed the investigation. The Ministry of Internal Affairs refused to initiate a criminal case. Since Adam Kadyrov is 15 years old, he has not reached the age of criminal responsibility. According to the law of the Russian Federation, persons over sixteen years of age are responsible for such crimes.
