Robert Telus, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Poland, announced that an agreement had been reached between Poland and Ukraine on grain transportation.
He called it “an important issue” writes Yle edition. Starting from October 4, Ukrainian grain transported through Lithuania will be inspected not at the Polish-Ukrainian border, but at the port of Lithuania.
Over the next two days, veterinary, sanitary and phytosanitary control from the Ukrainian-Polish border will be transferred to the port of Klaipeda in Lithuania for all agricultural cargo heading to this port.
The Ukrainian ministry noted that Ukraine proposed to transfer control from the Lithuanian port, and the governments of Poland and Lithuania supported such a control mechanism and consider this a constructive step.
