Helicopter crash on Evia: pilot’s body found

In Northern Evia, on 28/09, a civilian helicopter crashed in the sea area of Achladiou.

This is the Agusta A109, which took off at 10:13 am and suddenly disappeared from SAA radars in the Agia Anna area around 11:00 am. The helicopter made its way through the fog with almost zero visibility. And, apparently mistaking the sea for the horizon, he collapsed into it.

A search team and rescuers arrived at the scene. The pilot’s body was found on September 29. There were reportedly no passengers, meaning only one person was on board the private helicopter that crashed in the waters of Evia due to Storm Elias.

According to the coast guard, the helicopter sank at a depth of 52 meters. According to the latest information from APE-MBE, the discovered body belongs to the helicopter pilot. The remains were taken to Mantudi Medical Center and the deceased was identified by relatives.
