However, today, September 28, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova confirmed that there is a warhead of another missile in the lake.
The national police, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (GIES), carabinieri and border police are working at the scene of the incident. Minister of Internal Affairs Adrian Efros also located in Anenii Noi.
Bombteh specialists analyzed the optimal solution for explosives disposal. To begin with, hydraulic engineers pumped water out of the lake to make the work of pyrotechnicians easier. After this, sappers successfully carried out a controlled explosion of the discovered explosive elements of the warhead.
“We clarify that there is no danger to the population, the territory is isolated, and the first houses are located at a distance of 1 kilometer from the danger zone,” – noted the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The day before, local residents told authorities that they had spotted some components of a rocket in the lake, which may have crashed in the area. On the night of the incident (September 25), eyewitnesses say they heard two explosions in the air.
