A new incident of violence among minors occurred in the Acropolis area on Monday night (September 25). Unknown people approached the teenagers and, threatening them with a knife, took away their phones and money.
It all happened around 21:00 pm. A group of unknown people (four people) approached the guys, immobilized them and took away two mobile phones. The teenagers contacted law enforcement agencies. Authorities are investigating the incident and looking for the robbers.
Let us remind you that an “unhealthy situation” is constantly observed under the Acropolis. Despite the fact that policemen on motorcycles patrol the area, criminals still manage to commit atrocities. In 2018, a guy died on Philopappou Hill.

As Athens News previously reported, a 23-year-old foreign woman, whose friend died tragically on Philopappou Hill, told police how the accident happened during the robbery. A girl from Portugal said that she and her friend were walking in the evening on Philopappou Hill, near the Acropolis. Suddenly, three unknown men approached them, holding sharp objects in their hands. One of them began to threaten the girl, and the other two immobilized the guy. Since it was night, the young people had nowhere to wait for help. They took away the girl’s handbag and backpack and began to rummage through it in search of money and valuables.
“I looked at him at that time and remembered him,” she told police. According to the robbery victim, she heard the robbers talking to each other “not in Greek.” Having committed their heinous act, the criminals quickly retreated. At that moment, the foreigner saw her friend falling from the cliff. She did not see the very moment the fall began.
Despite the efforts of the police, it was not possible to find out whether the attackers pushed the guy or whether he himself tripped/lost his balance and fell. The girl was in shock and could not provide details.
