Execution cannot be pardoned…

The new government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in about 2 months of its existence, managed to “burn out” and “drown”, and the Prime Minister is already receiving proposals for the immediate dismissal of responsible ministers in order to reassure the people.

According to the publication pronews.gr, a “difficult situation” has arisen for two ministers – Vassilis Kikilias and Miltiadis Varvitsiotis: they are proposed to be “dismissed” before the Prime Minister travels to the United States or at least before the local elections. It is almost certain that both will leave their posts, and new changes in the government are not excluded, since everyone now admits that its specific composition was, to put it mildly, unsuccessful.

As for V. Kikilias, there is not much to say here. After unprecedented destruction caused by fires, a flood came that “drowned” the country and especially Thessaly. Civil protection in both cases worked to zero.

Regarding Miltiadis Varvitsiotis, as pronews.gr has learned, his statement after the murder of 36-year-old Antonis in Piraeus, which made the issue political, causes great irritation.

He politicized the tragedy and turned the whole world against the government,” Maximos sources comment. At the same time, we see government officials “drowning” their colleagues. Minister of National Defense Nikos Dendias, at a briefing on the contribution of the armed forces to the flood, let go a very caustic remark towards V. Kilikias.

“I want to assure Greek society that the armed forces will continue to provide assistance wherever they are called upon by the National Coordination Center for Crisis Management of the Ministry of Climate Change and Civil Defense, and in cooperation with other competent authorities,” Nikos Dendias said in a statement. “As well as provided for by the existing institutional framework, we have been in a state of readiness since Wednesday evening. There have been no delays.”

But the regional governor of Thessaly, Kostas Agorastos, also accused the ministry of not carrying out flood control work. In a conversation with ERT, the governor of the region mentioned them, saying that “responsibility for flood control works lies with the central administration, this is the responsibility of the ministry. The region does not have such resources to do such large projects.”
