Six forest fires were caused by lightning strikes on Barako hill in Wari and Pefkoto in Vouliagmeni, which required the mobilization of reinforced fire brigades.

According to notia.gr, the fires were immediately brought under control by the civil protection forces of the municipality, the fire service and volunteers from the Vari and Vula units.
