Another fire victim found in Dadia forest (video)

This morning, another charred body of a migrant was found in the Dadia forest.

How informs newsbeast.gr, it was found in the Lefkimi area, from where the fire, which destroyed everything in its path, passed to Evros.

Recall that in the forest of Evros last Tuesday 18 migrants found burnt, and another one was found dead in the Lefkimi area. This brings the total number of deaths in Evros to twenty.

According to reports, at least 18 illegals died in the Avanta region, and 2 more were found in Lefkimi, and given that the forest is a crossing point for illegal immigrants from Turkey to Greece, this number is expected to increase in the coming hours.

In Greece, against the background of extreme heat, the north-east of the country has been burning for a week. Near the city of Alexandroupolis, 73,000 hectares of forest have been destroyed. Where possible, local residents are returning to the villages. In the place of Avas, the ashes await them.

A second wave of wildfires this summer has left at least 26 dead. Authorities specify that in fact there may be more deaths. The extent of the damage has yet to be ascertained, but for now, firefighters and volunteers continue to fight out-of-control fires. The current fire in Greece has already been recognized as the largest in the history of observations in EU. Attackers could also add fuel to the fire: almost 80 people were detained in the country on suspicion of involvement in arson.
