An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale struck on Sunday morning (August 13) in Chania.
According to the Geodynamic Institute (Γεωδυναμικό Ινστιτούτο), the earthquake occurred 7 km southeast of Suyi Chania at 10:49 am and has a focal depth of 10.7 km.
The earthquake was especially felt in Chania and neighboring prefectures (Heraklion-Rethymnon), residents took to the streets, worried about the tremors.
