The robbery took place at dawn on Saturday in Nea Zoi Aspropyrgos, on the territory of ΧΥΤΑ, a garbage dump.
According to the authorities, at about 03:00, unidentified persons attacked an employee of a security company on patrol. There is a photovoltaic park on the site, and the 54-year-old man was doing his usual patrol when the intruders appeared in front of him. Having beaten the employee, the criminals quickly got into his company car.
The vehicle was soon found burnt out about two kilometers from the site of the attack. The man was taken to the Triasio hospital with injuries, where he is currently undergoing treatment. The police are investigating.
