Stores will still open this Sunday.

The Athens Chamber of Commerce has released an update on non-mandatory shop openings this Sunday, July 16th.

With its announcement, the Athens Chamber of Commerce “informs consumers and fellow merchants that commercial stores, in accordance with the law, can work as desired on the nearest Sunday, July 16, 2023, with opening hours proposed by the association – 11:00-18:00“.

Since the start of this year’s summer sales, the Athens Chamber of Commerce concludes, “there has been an oversupply. And this means that there will be big discounts and, accordingly, high consumer interest. For these reasons, we encourage consumers to take advantage of truly low prices and make purchases that cover real needs.”

Recall that due to the heat, the authorities thought that it was still worth reschedule the opening of stores to next Sunday, 23/07. However, later they changed their minds and shifted all responsibility “if something happens” to the citizens.

Like, they themselves knew that it was hot, and who is to blame if you get hit in search of clothes.
