Among the most important projects that are planned to be implemented in Greece is the overpass, which will “ascend” above the ring road of Thessaloniki.
On Tuesday, July 11, the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Christos Staikouras, presented the most important areas of the projects included in the Greek Development Plan 2030 in the field of infrastructure at the Fin Forum 2023 conference.
One of the important projects mentioned by the minister is the flyover*, i.e. the air highway, which will be built on the eastern ring and is expected to reduce traffic congestion in the city.
* Overpass – an engineering structure that serves to raise up the lines of communicationsometimes extended, consisting of a number of the same type of supports and spans, intended for placement of a road or utilities above ground level in order to bypass occupied territory (most often in cities) or traffic flows.
