In Germany, a group of immigrants from Central Asia, who were preparing a terrorist attack, was uncovered

Arrests took place in Germany and the Netherlands – nine immigrants from Central Asian countries are suspected of preparing a terrorist attack.

The German Interior Ministry reports on the disclosure of the crime, the investigation claims that those arrested were preparing terrorist attacks in Germany. Members of the group maintained contact with Islamists based in Afghanistan and neighboring countries, collected money for the activities of the Islamic State terrorist group. Herbert Reul, Minister of the Interior for North Rhine-Westphalia, notes:

The detainees arrived in Germany shortly after the start of the war in Ukraine, in the spring of 2022. Unfortunately, among the huge number of people fleeing the war seeking asylum, there are also “black sheep”, but these arrests indicate that our intelligence services are vigilant and keep the situation under control.

Citizens of Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan aged 20 to 46 were arrested. The investigation established that they had already received instructions from the curators to carry out the attack and began preparations, specific details were worked out. The prosecutor’s office considered the situation quite serious and did not hesitate to detain the criminals, interrupting the activities of the group.
