Moldovan woman who went missing on June 29 found dead

On the island of Sifnos, the police found the body of a 37-year-old citizen of Moldova, who went missing on June 29.

According to iefimerida.gr, the woman lived on the island with an elderly man. As it became known during the investigation, the Moldovan woman left Athens, where she had an illegal relationship with a married Greek man with children. From the first day of arrival on the island, the woman began to complain of abdominal pain. The old man who took her in insisted on taking her to the hospital, but she refused to go.

He eventually made an appointment for her to see a doctor at the Health Center and called a taxi. However, when she saw the car, the woman locked the old man in the house and disappeared. As soon as the elderly man (who has mobility problems) managed to get out of the locked home, he contacted the police. The authorities combed the island and found the body of a Moldovan woman in a hard-to-reach place on a rock.

According to preliminary information, since there are no external injuries on the body, nothing indicates a criminal act. However, an autopsy will be performed to rule out any such case. The unfortunate lay dead in the rocks for about two days.

The Greek partner of the Moldovan woman, with whom she lived in Acharnes, gave a statement to the police and stressed that the woman had a quick-tempered and unbalanced character.
