On Saturday, June 24, in the Voronezh region, “Wagnerites” shot down a control and relay aircraft Il-22M11 of the Russian army with tail number RA-75917.
Irina Kuksenkova, a journalist for Russia’s Channel One, gave details of the incident on her telegram channel, saying that all ten people on board were killed:
“When Prigozhin was already at the headquarters of the Southern Military District asked why [было сбивать самолет]because this plane does not strike, but performs other functions, he said: “And the fool-plow * in the column shot down everything that took off.”
Yevgeny Prigozhin promised to pay 50 million rubles to the families of the dead pilots.
According to media reports, the downed aircraft was an air command post based on the Il-22M11. In addition to him, the Russian army during the mutiny lost three EW helicopters Mi-8, Mi-35, Ka-52, a Tiger combat vehicle and a KamAZ truck. Nevertheless, in Rostov, the locals saw off the Wagnerites as heroes:
