“Golden” squids of Mykonos

Mykonos is back in the spotlight because of a local entrepreneur who charged an exorbitant price for a portion of squid from a couple of tourists from the United States. The “golden” squids of Mykonos were accompanied by “golden milkshakes” and “golden” local beer.

Tourists complained on a popular social media platform and posted a check that looks wrong, that is, illegal and does not comply with tax laws.

A family of tourists was asked to pay 360 euros for one salad, two milkshakes, beer, a mojito cocktail, bread for two and squid, for which they paid 148.50 euros.

Please note that a portion of squid in a good restaurant in Athens starts from 23 euros if they are fresh, and much lower if they are deep frozen, which is usually the case. Unless, of course, the restaurateur gave the tentacles to the visitors legendary kraken…

Athens News reported earlier that many foreign tourists who used to visit Mykonos regularly have become look with caution at the island of the Winds because, in their opinion, prices on the island are too overpriced.

We have previously reported on numerous scandals in which checks were issued to restaurant patrons for inflated amounts.
