There is currently a protest action with various collectives on the occasion of the shipwreck in Pylos on the Panepistimio Square in Athens.
After that, the gathering is expected to march to the parliament, and the PAME trade union has scheduled a protest rally at 20:00 on Syntagma. For this reason, the police have imposed traffic restrictions in the center of Athens.
The protesters demand the opening of borders and the destruction of barriers.

According to trade union announcements, the following are taking part in the protest action:
- Hellenic Federation of Builders and Allied Professions
- Trade union of metalworkers of Attica and workers of the shipbuilding industry of Greece
- Trade Union of Workers in the Food Industry, Tourism, Hospitality and Allied Industries of Attica
- Trade Union of Telecommunications and Information Technology Workers of Attica (SETIP)
- Industry Union of Financial Services Workers of Attica.
“Anger and endless sadness fill the hearts and minds of all workers and residents of our country in connection with a new deadly shipwreck off the coast of Pylos,” the trade unions said in a statement.
