On June 11, in the Kirovsky district of Crimea, on the stretch of Dzhankoy and Kerch, the railway tracks were damaged, due to which the movement of all trains was suspended.
According to information “Base“, the damage to the tracks was caused by an explosion that occurred in front of the train. The locomotive driver managed to apply emergency braking.
The explosion occurred around 16:00 local time, when a freight train was passing by. The explosion damaged the railroad tracks.
The head of the Crimea, Aksyonov, said that “passengers will be transferred by buses.” “There were no casualties. I personally keep the situation under control. I ask everyone to remain calm,” the message says.
“The explosion occurred right in front of the train. The train driver, seeing the undermining of the tracks, managed to slow down the emergency gang. The windows of the cab were broken from the blast wave, the driver himself was not injured,” Russian publications note.
This is not the first such sabotage. On May 18, it was reported that five wagons had derailed in the Simferopol region. On February 23, the Russian authorities of Crimea reported damage to the railway in the Bakhchisarai region.
