Undermining the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, the evacuation of the population began (video)

On the night of Tuesday, June 6, the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station was blown up, according to message Operational Command “South”:

“The Russian occupation troops blew up the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station. At present, the scale of destruction, the speed and volume of water, the likely areas of flooding are being specified. All services are working. The situation is being monitored.”

Yuri Sobolevsky, Deputy Chairman of the Kherson OVA, urged residents of the region to closely follow the messages of the authorities and follow the instructions.

Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Alexander Prokudin in a short video message confirmed undermining the dam of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station. According to him, the water will reach the critical level in 5 hours. The evacuation of the local population from dangerous areas began.

Meanwhile, the “mayor” of Novaya Kakhovka, captured by the Russian army, Vladimir Leontiev, who previously denied the explosion, in an interview with the TASS agency, said that valves were destroyed at the facility as a result of “night strikes”, and uncontrolled water is being discharged downstream.

TASS agency writes, citing a source in government structures: “The dam of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station in the Kherson region has collapsed due to damage, the territories are being flooded. It was quiet at night. There were no flights. The dam could not stand it, one support collapsed, and flooding began. TASS notes that it does not yet have official confirmation of information from the authorities and law enforcement agencies.
