Citizens appreciated the healthcare system in Greece

A study of the state of the country’s health system, conducted by the Panhellenic Medical Association, revealed interesting results.

The lack of organization and personnel in the health system are the two main causes of public dissatisfaction, with percentages of 74% and 52.4% respectively, with patients in many cases admitting problems with hospital equipment, old (dilapidated) buildings.

Only 41.5% of citizens are satisfied with the healthcare systemwhile doctors assess the healthcare system negatively in 49.7% of cases, and only 25.7% of them are satisfied.

These results are the result GPO survey for the Panhellenic Medical Associationwhich was held in April last year among 700 doctors and the population (1198 citizens) to assess the country’s healthcare system.

Citizens of the regions are satisfied with the healthcare system at the level of 48.2%. However, in Central Macedonia and Attica, dissatisfaction with indicators of 43% and 41.1% respectively.

During the presentation of the results of the study, the President PIS Athanasios Exadactylos interpreted the percentages by saying that in local communities (regions and peripheries), people are “attached” to their hospital, and also treat doctors with respect and gratitude.
