The mysterious disappearance of a British woman in Telendos

With each passing day, the hope of finding alive a 75-year-old British woman in Telendos, who went to a tavern for lunch two weeks ago and did not return, is decreasing.

Susan Hart and her husband Ed were vacationing in Kalymnos with friends and arrived in Telendos by ferry on April 30th. A husband and a friend decided to devote time to mountain climbing, and Susan headed to the beach, and then was going to have lunch. After that, no one saw the woman. Her daughter Bethan Blackwell, who is in Greece looking for her mother, says:

“How can someone disappear without leaving a trace? Our hopes of finding her alive are dwindling every day, and my sisters and I don’t know what to do next. Should we start to mourn or continue to hope she’s still alive? How should we be our next steps?”.

Alas, the search has so far been fruitless. Susan Hart was a former employee of the World Health Organization and lived with her husband in Switzerland. The two of them have been visiting Kalymnos every year since 2015. British media report: a woman told her husband that she was going to read shortly before going to a tavern on the island. Ruth, her second daughter, who lives in Australia, wrote on social media:

“Someone, somewhere, must have seen something. In such a small community, people do not disappear without a trace. Mom has dementia and is vulnerable. We need to find her, please help us.”

On the day of her disappearance, the woman was wearing a brown hat, gray Bermuda shorts, a light brown cardigan, gray boots, a gray short-sleeved shirt, and a wedding ring.
