Rhodes is full of tourists: a great start to the season

An impressive number of travelers arrived in Rhodes in April, confirming predictions that this year’s tourist season will be very profitable, both for the island of the knights and for the Dodecanese as a whole.

In April, according to data published yesterday by Fraport Greece, Rhodes Diagoras Airport recorded an increase in the number of tourists by 23% compared to last year. The past month has been the best ever, breaking both the 2022 record and the 2019 record, which until recently was considered the best. In April, 144,303 tourists arrived on charter flights to Rhodes, compared to 111,057 last year and 102,715 in the same month of 2019, which means an increase of 23% in 2022 and 28.8% in 2019.

According to the data, tourists from the UK took first place, and from Germany second, and by a fairly large margin. On the third – travelers from Israel, which was a big surprise. The top five leaders are complemented by French and Finnish tourists.

As for the monthly report on the flow of tourists arriving through Rhodes Airport, this is also an impressive figure, with 250,323 passengers carried according to the data compared to 190,806 passengers in April 2022, with the percentage reaching 31.2%.
