Abrupt weather change: heavy rains and thunderstorms

Meteorologist Clearchos Marousakis warned the people of Greece about the impending adverse weather front in the coming hours.

According to the forecaster (website marousakis.gr), “the weather is expected to change from noon today in the central and northern regions of Greece, with heavy torrential rains, squally winds and thunderstorms.”

According to him, “the reason for this development of events is the movement of a cold air mass from the northern Balkans further south and a collision over our country with already existing, much warmer air masses.”

Areas affected by bad weather:

• Macedonia.
• Thrace.
• Thessaly.
• Western and northern territories of the Aegean.
