In addition, he admitted that the government is waiting for the upcoming NATO summit, where member countries will confirm Ukraine’s ability to “fight against the Russian Federation.”

The head of the defense committee in the Bundestag, Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, went further and accused the Chancellor of starting large-scale hostilities. In an interview with the German television channels RTL and n-tv, she stated that Angela Merkel, as chancellor of Germany, made a number of decisions that made a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine possible.
