Famous Dagestan freestyle wrestler Dauren Kurugliev received sports citizenship of Greece. The athlete is already in Athens, where he is preparing for the upcoming European Championship as part of the Greek national team.
Kurugliev is the European champion and the winner of the European Games as part of the Russian national team, said the president of the Wrestling Federation of Dagestan, the athlete’s coach Gaidar Gaidarov.
Kurugliev is 30 years old. He has a victory at the European Championship in 2017, as well as the gold of the II European Games (2019) and the World Cup 2019, 2020 (in the weight category up to 86 kg).
“Dauren Kurugliev decided to change his citizenship and now he will play for the Greek national team. He is 30 years old, and he did everything that could be done for our country.
