Zelensky arrived on an official visit to Poland

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky arrived on an official visit to Poland – this was confirmed live by his speaker Serhiy Nikiforov.

“The president in Poland, he, together with the first lady, began his official visit,” Nikiforov said on the air of the all-Ukrainian telethon. According to him, Zelensky is scheduled to meet with Polish President Andrzej Duda and Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, business representatives, deputies, mayors, and volunteers.

The office of the President of Poland reported that after the official greeting of the guests by Andrzej Duda and his wife, the leaders would hold talks in the presidential palace, after which negotiations of the delegations would take place. Marcin Przydacz, head of the International Policy Bureau at the Office of the President, quoted by PAP, said that the talks will cover “the entire spectrum of Polish-Ukrainian relations, starting with security policy.” According to him, they plan to raise historical issues as well. A joint performance by Andrzej Duda and Volodymyr Zelensky is planned at 18:00.

The Office of the President of Poland assured that all services are properly prepared for the organization of such a visit, and it must be safe. This is Zelenskiy’s first official visit to Warsaw since the all-out war. In addition, the presidents of Ukraine and Poland met twice “in working mode” in Rzeszow – in December 2022 and February 2023. So far, during the full-scale war, the President of Ukraine has traveled abroad only a few times – for a visit to Washington and, one trip, to London, Paris and Brussels.

Andrzej Duda came to Ukraine four times during the war, the first of which was in April 2022 with his Baltic colleagues, and the last one was in January 2023 for the Lublin Triangle summit in Lviv.

The publication “Strana” reported that the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky in Poland was awarded the Order of the White Eagle. The video is published by the Office of the Polish President Andrzej Duda. This is the highest state award in Poland, one of the oldest Polish orders, founded in 1705.

In 1992, the order was restored as the highest state award, the grand master of which is the president.

Voice of America reported that President of Ukraine may speak publicly in the center of Warsaw during his visit to Poland. It is expected that Zelensky and his wife will also meet with Ukrainians living in Poland. Meetings are also scheduled with Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
