Taekwondo coach arrested for raping underage athletes

Taekwondo coach in Iliupoli arrested for serial rape and harassment of underage girls involved in sports.

As it became known, the 44-year-old man is married and has one minor child. He coached the girls at the local sports club. According to Attica Security’s juvenile protection department, the investigation found that coach A.D. at least from 2009 to 2020, he was in contact with his wards, underage students aged 12 to 16 years. The coach praised the athletes, convincing them that if they do extra work and go to individual training, then “they will go far.”

The pervert did this for only one purpose – so that the girls could spend long hours alone with him. In individual training, harassment and, in some cases, sexual contact were committed.

According to police sources, the trainer’s actions were particularly brutal and painful for his underage victims. Authorities have confirmed the rape of at least 5 girls who are now adults.

Despite the involvement of the pedophile in other similar actions and harassment against other underage athletes, he continues to “kindly care” for girls and to this day trains children’s teams of athletes of different ages every day. As it turned out, the coach also accompanied (and accompanies) children to taekwondo matches both in Greece and abroad.

The case against the “coach-rapist and pedophile” was transferred to the Athens District Attorney’s Office, after which an appropriate arrest warrant was issued. During the search conducted in the house and cars of the detainee, as well as in the premises of the sports school, the following were found and confiscated:

  • 3 mobile phones,
  • 2 tablets,
  • 3 laptops
  • hard drive and memory card (removed from a desktop computer).

The arrested person was brought before the district attorney of Athens in the early morning of March 22.
