Tempi: the head of the station with a salary of 3,500 euros was appointed to the position 5 days before the tragedy

The fact published exclusively in Live News by colleagues of the 59-year-old head of the station Larisa, who admitted his mistake about the tragedy in Tempi, speaks volumes.

He started his career as a cattle breeder in the village of Karditsa, then became a loader in ΟΣΕthen moved to the Ministry of Education and finally returned to ΟΣΕ to get the position of head of the station of Larisa, taking responsibility for thousands of lives every day. The salary at this place of work was 3500 euros (mixed). At the same time, the man was appointed to this post, as it turned out, just 5 days before the tragedy.

According to the stationmaster’s colleagues, his training lasted about six months. As for practice, there is a period when he began to apply everything he had learned under the supervision of a more experienced specialist. The commission, which will investigate the catastrophe and its causes, will give answers to many questions.

The head of the station allegedly threw himself “into the abyss of affairs”, taking up his job – a provincial station in Kalambaka (where, according to his colleagues, two trains a day pass). His first shift as Larissa stationmasterfor which no one except him looked after, was on Friday, before the three days of Pure Monday.

The authorities carried out his arrest. If the fault of the head of the station is established, he faces a sentence of 10 years in prison or life. The investigation is ongoing.
