"PMC Redan" – black color, spiders and number 4

First, in Russia, and then in Ukraine, a youth “PMC Redan” appeared – not related to paramilitary groups, but active and aggressive.

This is the new teenage Zoomer (or Generation Z, born between 1997 and 2012) teenage model who picks fights in malls with football fans, migrants, and right-wingers. Reports of incidents with members of PMC Redan are increasingly appearing in the Russian media and Ukrainian telegram channels.

This subculture originated in social networks, inspired by the anime series “Hunter x Hunter” – there is a gangster group “Ryodan”. A distinctive feature of teenagers is black clothes with the image of a black spider with the number “4”, as well as plaid pants. They wear long hair and dye it black. “Redanovtsy” are fighting with the so-called “offers”, who start a fight for any reason. These include, for example, football fans.

The media also called the Redan representatives neo-Nazis and wrote that they allegedly beat people of other nationalities. Representatives of Redan deny this and insist that they have no hatred on racial or national grounds. If there were episodes of beatings of non-Slavic people, then this is an accident, they insist.

In February of this year, representatives of the youth “PMC” staged several mass fights in the shopping center of St. Petersburg. Two days ago, on February 26, the National Guard and the police carried out raids there: over a hundred teenagers were detained. And after the mass brawl on February 22 in the Moscow shopping center “Aquapark”, the head of the Sledkom of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, drew attention to the situation. He ordered to find out all the circumstances of the incident.

In Moscow on February 24 and 25, in connection with the riots, more than 350 people were taken to police departments, mostly minors who may be involved in the informal Ryodan movement, a law enforcement source said. According to him, the riots began after on February 23, several members of the informal movement, during an online telegram broadcast, insulted people of non-Slavic appearance. Then a group of teenagers went down to the subway, where they got into a fight with other minors at the Lubyanka station. At some point, a teenager, a member of the Ryodan movement, was sprayed in the face with a spray can.

On this fact, a criminal case of hooliganism was initiated, charges were brought against three minors. And in telegram writes BB.LV, calls for violence against members of the Ryodan movement began to spread. On Sunday, the media reported that supporters of the Ryodan subculture were allegedly being detained in some Russian cities, including Kazan, St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk.

Later, reports of the appearance of PMC “Redan” appeared in Ukraine. In particular, its representatives planned to arrange a mass brawl in Kharkov, on Constitution Square. Vladimir Timoshenko, head of the police in the Kharkiv region, called it “another fact of Russia’s criminal activities against children.” He stated that the Russians launched a flash mob on purpose to arrange fights between teenagers, and everyone who was supposed to take part in the fight was detained by the police.

Law enforcers report that around 14:00 on February 27, a group of people gathered on Constitution Square to commit a mass brawl in order to support a flash mob launched by the Russian Federation. The head of the Kharkiv Region Police Investigation Department, Serhiy Bolvinov, said that the police had identified 245 people, of which 30 were adults. There are 149 boys among minors and 66 girls.

The Investigation Department registered cases on the facts of preparation for mass riots and the involvement of minors in criminal activities, under Part 1 of Art. 14, part 1, art. 294, part 2 of Art. 304 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article is from 5 to 8 years in prison.

On the evening of February 27 edition “UP” reported that in Kiev, Kharkov, Lvov, Zhytomyr and Ivano-Frankivsk, teenagers who identify themselves as members of the Russian subculture “PMC Redan” gathered for mass fights. Law enforcers said that parents can be held administratively liable for failure to fulfill their obligations to raise children, under Art. 184 CUAO. The head of the GUNP in the Kharkiv region, Volodymyr Timoshko, addressed all parents of teenagers:

“I appeal to all adults. Be careful with your children, keep in constant contact with them, help them figure out what is happening, where is good and where is evil. The war continues not only on the battlefield. The enemy wants to destroy our country and uses our children to achieve our bloodthirsty goals. Only together can we stop this.”

Meanwhile, in Russia, representatives of “unfriendly countries” are suspected of creating PMC Redan. The head of the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption, Vasily Piskarev, said that the lower house would soon study the situation with the detention of teenagers associated with the so-called Redan PMC. In the Telegram channel, he wrote on Monday:

“We will study in detail the situation around the detentions of teenagers from the so-called PMC Redan, which some media write about, in the near future. I will send relevant requests to law enforcement agencies. which – to destabilize the situation through our youth”.
