Russian users of the Chinese version of OnePlus 11 found that their smartphones are blocked. A message appeared on the gadget screens:
“Your phone is customized for a specific region. Restrictions apply to the call feature in your region. Please contact the place where you purchased your phone to solve the problem.”
This is evidence that the owner of the OnePlus brand, the Chinese company ORRO, has blocked the ability to make calls from their smartphones. The restrictions apply to devices purchased in China but activated in other countries, including in Russia, explained Evgeny Makarov, editor-in-chief of Mobiltelefon.
The blocking did not affect all devices, and it is not known what it is connected with. OnePlus smartphones are not officially sold in Russia, therefore, when contacting support, users receive a standard answer: complain at the place of purchase. Makarov, however, notes that some solved the problem by flashing – from the Chinese ColorOS to the global OxygenOS.
Experts fear that the restriction, which is also found in some other countries, applies not only to this smartphone model, but also to Oppo and Realme, since they also use ColorOS. writes moscowtimes.ru.
