In Exarchia a woman "swallowed up" road

At the intersection of Harilau Trikoupi and Navarino streets in the Exarchia region, a landslide occurred due to bad weather, as a result of which a walking woman fell into a hole formed in the ground.

The incident occurred at 10 am on Thursday, shortly after the arrival of the cyclone and bad weather. The woman was walking home when the ground under her feet “opened” and she fell into the resulting hole. The depth was great, while, fortunately, the townswoman was not seriously injured. An acquaintance who was walking next to her pulled her friend out of the “well” that had formed.

Ms. Eleni, speaking to MEGA, described her “misadventure”: “I was walking down the sidewalk as I was leaving work and suddenly… fell into the void. Fortunately, the person I was walking with immediately rushed to my aid and pulled me outside. Doctors ascertained a dislocation of the leg and gave sick leave. However, things could have been much worse.”

The woman emphasized that “there were no markings on the sidewalk (with the sign “Attention, danger!”). The road surface seemed durable, but from water or long-term operation it lost its reliability (strength) and sank, turning into a “trap”. A year ago, I almost broke my leg again in the same area (Harilau Trikoupi Street), tripping and falling due to broken tiles. And I think it’s not just me that this happens to. Many city dwellers in their daily lives at times encountered obvious problems on the sidewalks.”

This is what else! But in Thessaloniki, a whole bus “dived” into a huge hollow on the main road.
