A strong earthquake occurred at 14:25 4 km from the point of Dirfiem Messaries on the island of Evia. Approximate magnitude of 5 on the Richter scale.
The earthquake had an unusually long duration and was aboutvery noticeable, including in Athens, located approximately 50 kilometers from the epicenter of the earthquake.
This is not the first earthquake in the region. Almost a month ago, on November 29, a series of tremors of magnitude 5.3 pointsthen December 3 at 4 and 3.9 points. And on December 14, magnitude in 4.3 and this is not counting many dozens of smaller earthquakes with magnitudes up to 3.9 points inclusive.
