Foreign artist found dead in his home on the island of Naxos

The death of a German artist on Naxos revealed his secret – archaeological treasures and coins were found in the house.

According to naxostimes.gr, this is Klaus Pfeiffer, a German artist who passed away at the age of 84 at his home on the island of Naxos on Saturday 3 December. During the investigation, ancient objects were found in his house.

Neighbors began to look for the man, because he did not answer either the phone or the doorbell. Then the worried locals called the police and, by order of the prosecutor, the door was opened and the body of the old man was found. After a forensic examination, it was established that the elderly man died suddenly. However, the fact that objects similar to antiques or antiquities were found inside his house was more impressive.

An official from the Office of Archeology of the Cyclades was summoned to the dwelling, who confirmed that these were ancient objects that fall under the provisions of the relevant law. In total, 48 ancient objects and 215 ancient coins were found in the house. Everything is confiscated and is being assessed by the authorities.

The house of the German artist is guarded by the police and sealed off as it also houses works by Klaus Pfeiffer. Their fate, most likely, will be determined by his last will (testament). However, it remains unclear how 48 antique items ended up in the house of a German artist. The case is being investigated by the Naxos Police Department.
