How "unlock" metabolism to lose weight with ease

Exhausting diets and intense workouts do not always bring the desired result. Often they lead to physical exhaustion, as a result of which the metabolism tends to stall, and you constantly feel bloated.

As nutritionist Christina Barrus points out, metabolism is like an organ that brings the body into contact with the energy it consumes/expends. Therefore, as long as we do not take care of its function properly, it decreases, as a result of which we do not reach desired weight loss.

The point is not to follow restrictive or low-calorie diets, but to distribute your diet in such a way as to provide the body with the necessary energy so that the body can function normally and burn calories.

Follow expert advice to get your metabolism going:

  • Stop cutting calories or eliminating meals.
  • Gradually increase your calories daytime diet.
  • Don’t eliminate food categories from your diet just because you think they’re “guilty of weight gain.”
  • Make changes to your diet every week by adding new food categories so you feel like you’re enjoying your meal.
  • In general, the consumption of foods that may be higher in fat or have no nutritional value is encouraged, simply because they are enjoyable. But always in moderation.
  • Add fiber to your diet such as cereals, fruits, vegetables.
  • Always keep healthy snacks in your bag to fight hunger.
  • Avoid “drinkable” calories, such as by consuming juices and soft drinks.

Other Habits That Boost Your Metabolism

  1. Relaxation. As energy stores decrease, our body needs food to replenish it. This means that the body and mind need rest, so you can resort to various forms of relaxation, such as meditation.
  2. Reducing stress. A good night’s sleep is the first and most important step in reducing stress and improving your relationship with food, as stress often leads to emotional overeating (compulsive overeating).
  3. Increasing physical activity. Cardio is not the only form of exercise for weight loss. You can try strength training, which boosts your metabolism and helps build muscle.

How long does it take to unlock metabolism

It depends on each organism individually, as well as the needs (type of work, physical activity during the day, age, gender) of each person. It usually takes two to three months for the metabolism to get off the ground.
