From January 1, 2023, unvaccinated medical workers will return to work

Health Minister Thanos Plevris announced the return of suspended health workers who refused to be vaccinated.

They will return to work from January 1, 2023, in accordance with the decision of the Greek Council of State, he said:

“Based on the decision of ΣτΕ, which considered this measure, there is a ruling that the extension of the measure exceeds the principle of proportionality. We have already received a decision to see how this decision will be implemented. It will be implemented, although I believe that this is a dangerous decision for public health “This measure will be introduced after we have taken all measures to ensure a strict protocol to protect public health.”

At the same time, Mr. Plevris referred to the symbolic occupation of health workers, noting that “the minority cannot impose on the majority” and emphasized that hospitals belong to everyone.

Recall that hospital doctors are calling for the bill on secondary care to be withdrawn. The ΟΕΝΓΕ opined that the bill “entirely privatizes public hospitals, makes people’s health an even more expensive commodity and privilege for the few, and condemns the vast majority of people to even more degrading medical services,” writes CNN Greece.
