Heraklion: Uncle with 6 friends raped his 10-year-old nephew

The horrific case of the rape of a 10-year-old child by his uncle, who committed it two years ago with six friends, was reopened yesterday in the East Crete Mixed Court of Appeal.

The 62-year-old man, now the father of four and the grandfather of seven grandchildren, denied everything but was taken to prison, where he was sentenced to 20 years in prison with a 15-year suspension of execution, with no suspensive effect on appeal.

The tangle began to unravel when the child’s 74-year-old grandmother needed surgery. When she told him to be careful and she would be back with him soon, the 10-year-old boy “lashed out” and confessed to her about the anguish he was experiencing.

“Grandma, my uncle showed me love at first. He called me to play with the dogs and watch TV. Grandma, I have a notebook and I write them down“, – the boy told her, while telling her that his uncle put inappropriate films in his bedroom and raped him!

As a 74-year-old woman told the court, an old debauchee put lingerie on her grandson and said that at first it would hurt, but then the pain would stop. “I do the same with my grandchildren, but it doesn’t hurt” he said to the ten-year-old boy.

In another part of her testimony, the elderly woman said that the accused even put her grandson in … a grave that he himself built, and took him to a barn, where, blindfolding him, six other people raped him! Also, on another occasion, he took a child into a chicken coop to rape him there.

“The child was scared, he sat in the toilet for an hour, he was in pain all night, he did not want me to take him to the doctor”, – said the grandmother, claiming that the man once put the child in the chicken coop, but since the grandchildren arrived and noticed them, he threw the child out of the chicken coop window from a height of 3.30 meters. The trial will continue on November 29.
