In Agia Pelagia and Lygaria, pictures of destruction were recorded: cars were swept away – some even into the sea – roads turned into rivers or drowned in mud.

Problems also arose at the Heraklion airport, where the runways were flooded. Problems have also been reported on roads in the northern part of Crete, in Agia Pelagia, due to both heavy rain and landslides.

The message from the 112 service came with a delay of 9 hours. In it service they warn of dangerous weather events in the next 24 hours in the following areas. At the same time, the authors of the message urge citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and follow the instructions of the authorities.
