Fatal accident in Turkey: 16 dead and 29 injured

In Turkey, a van with failed brakes flew into a crowd of people at full speed. The incident took place on Saturday 20 August in the province of Mardin.

As a result of a technical malfunction, the driver, whose condition was not reported, was unable to keep the car and crashed into the crowd. After that, he rammed several cars and overturned.

112 ambulances left for the scene of the road accident. Sixteen people died on the spot, 29 were injured of varying severity, eight victims are in serious condition.

On the morning of the same day, August 20, another major accidentin which 16 people were killed and 21 injured. In the city of Gaziantep in southern Turkey, an accident occurred, rescuers, an ambulance and journalists arrived there. While they were responding to the accident, another bus crashed into the rescuers and the injured on the ground.

As a result of the tragedy, 16 people died, including two journalists from the Ilhas agency, three rescuers, three doctors and eight bus passengers.
