SYRIZA – Mitsotakis: "Arrogant unrepentant liar"

The prime minister was severely criticized by the official opposition party over speeches Kyriakos Mitsotakis, where he tried to shift the blame for the surveillance scandal to subordinates.

The SYRIZA-PS statement describes Kyriakos Mitsotakis as “an arrogant, unrepentant liar”, accusing him of “not having the dignity of resigning” and stressing that “an abscess has burst and everything will be revealed”.

The 48-hour deadline that he gave himself to explain, unfortunately, did not restore Mr. Mitsotakis’ relationship with the truth. He turned out to be an arrogant and unrepentant liar. He asked for mitigating circumstances on the basis of reduced liability, trying to convince himself that he did not know what was going on even in the country’s most sensitive areas of his executive power.

In particular:

• He added to the lies of Mr. Economou, Mr. Gerapetritis, Mr. Pierrakakis – people close to him who denied surveillance for weeks – the monstrous lie that he knew nothing about the surveillance of Nikos Androulakis. Which he still calls legitimate.
• He praised the national role of the NSA, but in an attempt to shirk responsibility, he did not hesitate to portray it as not only disorganized but out of control.
• He didn’t even dare to utter the word Predator, trying to keep behind the scenes established surveillance with this software, the government even denies that it is supplied by state agencies.
• He referred only to the case of surveillance of Andrulakis, but did not explain how and why the NSA decided on such an unprecedented action. He also said nothing about spying on journalists such as Theophilos Koukakis.
• He did not answer the public question raised by SYRIZA about how many more citizens, journalists and politicians, and why the NSA installed surveillance during his rule.
• He presented himself as a NIS reformer while stubbornly denying all relevant proposals from SYRIZA and the opposition. He appointed one of his confidants as its head, even changing the law. He deprived ADAE of the right to inform the “objects” of surveillance with the help of a night correction. He set up a cover-up and lie operation to spy on Androulakis. To force the propaganda machine of Maximos to involve third countries in a scandal, as well as to direct vile slander against the President of PASOK-KINAL.
• In his unsuccessful attempt to apologize on television, Mr. Mitsotakis convinced of one thing: that he was guilty, but also that he did not hesitate in the face of any lie, any hypocrisy, any distortion in order to save himself.
• He did not have the courage to do the obvious for any liberal European democracy. That is, retire. And this is a big political mistake that exacerbates the political crime of surveillance.

Let him be sure that the truth will not be hidden under the cement of the controlled media and the filth of his propaganda machine. The abscess is broken, and the truth will come out, whether he wants it or not. Events have already overtaken him.

Earlier, the fire on the Prime Minister was launched via Twitter by the representative of SYRIZA-PS Nasos Iliopoulos.

“Mitsotakis spoke about “national security” and “asymmetric-hybrid threats.” He did not say a word about the Predator and the reasons for monitoring Koukakis and Androulakis. He is not just a liar, he is dangerous for democracy and the security of the country,” commented N. Iliopoulos .
