The Greek National Health Organization ΕΟΔΥ announced on Wednesday that it is ending its daily bulletin on coronavirus cases, while the number of infections and other related data will be announced collectively only once a week, on Fridays.
This decision raises questions (and surprises) because daily infections are currently Covid-19 range from 25,000 to 30,000 people.
In their respective message to accredited editors, ΕΟΔΥ revealed that “From Friday 8 July 2022, ΕΟΔΥ will weeklythat is, every Friday, publish a report with available epidemiological data on cases of COVID-19 infection.
The report will cover data written to HDIKA before 9:00 am the previous day.
The weekly report will include all disease data since the start of the pandemic (number of cases, intubations and deaths), as well as wastewater surveillance and genomic surveillance data.
In case of significant changes in the epidemiology of the disease, there will be corresponding updates from ΕΟΔΥ,” the message says.
“It remains unknown why ΕΟΔΥ decided to limit relevant information in the midst of new wave of pandemicwith 25,000–30,000 daily cases,” notes the medical news site. healthreport.gr.
