EU yielded to Hungary – Patriarch Kirill will not be included in the 6th package of sanctions

“Slowed down” sixth package of sanctions EU against Russia “moved from its place” and was adopted – the European Union gave in to the demands of Hungary and excluded Patriarch Kirill from the “black” list. Today the sanctions will be published and come into effect.

On Thursday, June 2, the sanctions package was approved; today it will be published in the Official Journal of the EU. Adopted at a meeting of permanent representatives in Luxembourg, this package of sanctions provides for sanctions against agents of Russian propaganda and their families, oligarchs, persons involved in the events in Bucha, industrial and technological sector entities associated with Russian aggression, writes cnn.gr.

The sixth package of sanctions against the Russian Federation includes restrictions on companies in the oil and banking sectors, as well as on the work of the media, according to the page of the French EU presidency on Twitter.

Sub-sanctioned was delivered by sea oil, as reported by our publication. Imports via the Druzhba pipeline, on which Hungary is too dependent, have been abandoned for the time being. It was because of this country that it was so difficult to achieve a complete embargo. At the final press conference, Charles Michel stressed that the decision on the import of Russian oil through pipelines is temporary.

Bloomberg clarifies that the new sanctions include a ban on the purchase of crude oil from Russia, delivered to member states by sea six months after the entry into force of sanctions, and petroleum products for eight months. The pipeline oil will be temporarily retained as a concession to Hungary and other landlocked countries that depend on supplies from Russia via the Druzhba pipeline.

In addition, as reported TASS:

“Three Russian banks, including Sberbank, and one Belarusian bank” will be disconnected from the international interbank system for transmitting information and making payments SWIFT. As part of the new package of sanctions, restrictions on the supply of goods to Russia that will affect chemical and high-tech products have been expanded. A “ban on consulting services for Russian operators” is introduced. The list also includes “a ban on three Russian media organizations involved in the dissemination of propaganda,” but their names are not given.

In the sanctions package, writes “Country”, there will be new personal EU sanctions, which will fall under “several dozen people” – representatives of law enforcement agencies from the Russian Federation, businessmen. Alina Kabaeva also turned out to be there.

A complete list of individuals and entities affected by the new restrictions and a detailed description of each measure will be published in the Official Journal of the EU. Sanctions will take effect from the moment of publication.
